Welcome to Vista Rental Cars. These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your use of our car rental services. By making a reservation, signing a rental agreement, or using our vehicles, you (“the renter”) agree to comply with these Terms.

1. Eligibility to Rent

1.1 Age Requirements:

• Renters must be at least 25 years old to rent a vehicle.
• Drivers under 25 years of age may be subject to a Young Driver surcharge.

1.2 Driver’s License:

• Renters must present a valid, unexpired driver’s license issued in their country of residence.
• International renters may require an International Driving Permit in addition to their primary license.

1.3 Payment Requirements:

• A valid credit card or debit card in the renter’s name is required at the time of booking or pickup.
• Cash on delivery is accepted only if payment via card is not possible.
• Security deposits may be held on the payment card during the rental period.
• Security deposits can be made via cash for the rental period.

2. Reservation and Rental Payment

2.1 Reservation Confirmation:

• Reservations are confirmed upon payment authorization or deposit.

2.2 Rental Charges:

• Rental charges include the base rental fee, taxes, and applicable surcharges. Additional fees may apply for optional services, damage, late returns, or refueling.

2.3 Cancellations and No-Shows:

• Cancellations: Reservations canceled within [24/48] hours of the rental start time may incur a cancellation fee.
• No-Shows: If you fail to pick up the vehicle at the agreed time without prior notice, a no-show fee may apply.

3. Vehicle Pickup and Return

3.1 Pickup Requirements:

• You must submit (via email, message, or upload) a valid driver’s license, payment card, and any additional required identification at the time of booking the rental car online or at pickup upon request.

3.2 Return Condition:

• The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as received, except for normal wear and tear.
• A fee may apply for vehicles returned late or to a different location without prior approval.

3.3 Fuel Policy:

• Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as when rented. Refueling charges may apply if the tank is not refilled.

3.4 Cleanliness:

• Excessive dirt, stains, or odors requiring deep cleaning may result in a cleaning fee.

4. Vehicle Use and Restrictions

4.1 Authorized Drivers:

• Only individuals listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle. Any additional driver information must be presented to Vista Rental Cars before the vehicle is released. 

4.2 Prohibited Use:
The renter may NOT:

• Use the vehicle for illegal activities or purposes.
• Engage in off-road driving, racing, towing, or transport of hazardous materials.
• Drive the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance impairing safe operation.
• Take the vehicle outside the permitted geographical area without written consent.

4.3 Mileage Limits:

• If a mileage limit applies, exceeding the limit will result in additional fees.

4.4 Tracking Devices:

• Vehicles may be equipped with GPS or telematics devices for safety, recovery, and usage monitoring purposes.

5. Insurance and Liability

5.1 Renter’s Responsibility:

• You are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle during the rental period.
• Standard insurance does not cover all damages; renters must review coverage options carefully.

5.2 Optional Coverage:

• Renters may purchase additional liability protection, such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Extra Protection Waiver (EPW), or Personal Accident Coverage if available.

5.3 Third-Party Liability:

• Renters are required to comply with local laws for third-party liability insurance.

6. Roadside Assistance

We provide basic roadside assistance for mechanical issues not caused by misuse. For services due to renter-caused incidents (e.g., flat tires, lockouts), additional charges may apply.

7. Fees and Charges

You may be subject to the following fees where applicable:

• Late Return Fee: For vehicles returned past the scheduled time.
• Refueling Fee: If the fuel tank is not returned at the required level.
• Cleaning Fee: For excessive dirt, odors, or spills.
• Damage or Theft Fees: For repair or replacement of the vehicle or parts.
• Parking Violations: You are responsible for all tolls, tickets, and parking violations incurred during the rental period.

8. Termination of Agreement

We reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement and repossess the vehicle without notice if:

• The vehicle is used in violation of this Agreement.
• False or misleading information was provided at the time of rental.
• The renter fails to return the vehicle on time.

No refunds will be provided for early termination due to a breach of these terms.

9. Privacy Policy

Your personal information is collected, stored, and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found at here. By renting a vehicle, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described therein.

10. Limitation of Liability

Vista Rental Cars is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our vehicles.
• Delays, loss of profits, or personal property left in the vehicle.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Saint Lucia. Any disputes arising out of this Agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Castries, Saint Lucia.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and apply to future rentals.
